Cell (Vs. Android 16) from Banpresto’s Match Makers series recreates Android 16’s battle with Cell in his Imperfect Form, shortly after Cell has defeated Android 17 and Piccolo. As Cell prepares to absorb the weakened Android 17, 16 finally intervenes, striking Cell and revealing that his calculations place his own strength and speed on par with the bio-android.
The two engage in a close-range battle, with 16 initially holding a slight advantage. Cell attempts to use the stinger on his tail to absorb 16, only to discover that the fully mechanical android cannot be absorbed in the same manner as Androids 17 and 18. 16 then turns Cell's own tail against him, throwing him to the ground and tearing the stinger off in an attempt to prevent him from absorbing the other androids. Cell's Namekian cells allow him to regenerate the severed tail, forcing 16 to realize that he must destroy Cell completely before he can achieve his perfect form. The battle escalates as 16 unleashes his powerful Hell's Flash, driving Cell underground and causing massive destruction, but Cell survives the attack.
