Kakazu's primary technique, Earth Grudge Fear, fills his body with hundreds of thick black threads that hold him together like a rag doll, allowing him to detach and manipulate his limbs, repair severe injuries, and extract the hearts of defeated shinobi. Kakuzu can maintain up to five hearts at once, with four stored inside the animal masks attached to his back, effectively requiring each heart to be destroyed before he can be killed. The stolen hearts also provide him with additional chakra and elemental abilities, while their masks can separate from his body and attack independently using Fire, Wind, Lightning, and Water Release techniques.

This Noir Edge Collection figure depicts him wearing the Akatsuki's black cloak with its red cloud patterns and red lining, along with his hood, lower-face mask, scratched Takigakure forehead protector, and exposed hands marked by the stitches associated with his body.
