When cursed by the yokai known as Turbo Granny, Okarun's hair turns white, his posture grows hunched, and a dark, skeletal-jaw mask appears along with sharpened nails. In this state Okarun gains the yokai’s signature abilities: incredible speed and greatly enhanced strength and reflexes
His transformation also brings a darker turn to his personality: usually polite and socially awkward, he becomes melancholic, rough-spoken, and sometimes unsettlingly suave, shedding his formal manners. In the story Okarun plays a crucial role as a bridge between the human world and the realm of spirits and aliens, standing on the front lines battling terrifying yokai and extraterrestrial threats.
